It does take a village to raise a child…never did that charming little saying mean as much as it has the last four weeks.
Travis, Amy, and Charlie would like to write a brief note of thanks to all of you that have helped support us in this new chapter of our lives. We had no idea of the vast endeavor that we have taken on, and all of you have been there for us. Some of you have lent us your time to give Travis and I a break, and many of you have lent a kind ear (and voice) to let us know that everything we’re experiencing is ‘normal’, that all of us will in fact get through this challenge, and to keep our spirits up.
Your words of wisdom, your support and love have gotten us through this initial four weeks are genuinely appreciated and our sincere gratitude for everything you have done. Many thanks to our families and friends, especially the Logan’s (Grandma, Grandpa, & Julia Logan), Grandma & Grandpa Garms, the Wells family, Nicole Pudwell, Lisa Hackard, and Grace Kunde. Your friendship and love mean the world to us.

Bath Time!
Welcome to the world, Charlie!

On April 15th at 11:01pm, we welcomed a new addition to our family. Charles Dennis tipped the scales at 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 inches long. We are truly blessed and excited for all of the new experiences parenthood will bring. As you can see from the pictures, Charlie has a full head of hair. Most people point out that he has more hair than his dad, which is true.
We checked into the hospital at about 8pm on the 14th, and Amy started on meds to induce pregnancy shortly thereafter. Labor was a long process for Amy, but she did great. In fact, she gave me the best birthday present ever with 59 minutes to spare.
Thanks for Dennis and Marlene for bringing in a birthday cake and dinner while Amy was recovering. Never thought that I would celebrate my birthday in a maternity ward, quite the experience.
After two days in the hospital, we took Charlie home on the 17th. When we arrived at the hospital on the 14th, it was about 70 degrees, we drove home on the the 17th in a snowstorm. Gotta love Colorado in the spring!

We are having a baby!!!
Its official, Amy is pregnant. I can only hope that our child takes after its mother so that the child doesn't end up in the shallow end of the pool. We are both very excited about the changes that are coming up and watching our child grow while we grow with him/her.
Here are the quick details. Due date: 12 April 2009 (Easter Sunday)
Sex of the child: Going to be a surprise, I am betting its a boy or a girl (seriously, how lucky is Amy to be married to such a smart guy!)
Name: Still trying to figure out the right name. Bill Cosby said "Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell, the name will carry." We will keep that sage advice in mind....
Hospital: Swedish Englewood, CO
